Economic Opportunity

6% of Indonesia’s 265 million inhabitants live in the 11.4 million families headed by women, of which more than 85% occupy the lowest economic quintile of the population, with income less than $2 per day. Yayasan PEKKA is working in Indonesia’s public education system to expand the government’s ‘life-long learning initiative’ for a more gender-inclusive curriculum.

PEKKA will collaborate with the Indonesian Government to scale the API (women’s leadership) program with the goal of improving leadership, economic agency, and social empowerment of marginalized women and their children across rural Indonesia.
