Mary Murigi

As a Grants & Operations Manager, Mary partners with our Program to support grant-making in Africa; as well as managing contracting, funder compliance, and other operations projects.

Mary brings extensive experience in programme, grants and operations management, having worked with diverse international, regional, and national organizations as a development practitioner. With a deep-seated passion for human rights and gender equality, she has a strong background in developing equitable grant-making and operational systems that drive inclusion, equity, growth, and effectiveness for scaled impact.

Before Joining Co-Impact, Mary partnered with organizations at ForumCiv’s Regional office for Eastern and Southern Africa, supporting them with optimizing their social impact. Significantly, she led the streamlining of grant and operations systems at ForumCiv towards more equitable and impactful programming in areas of human rights, good governance, and gender equality within the region. In her previous roles, Mary has also worked with diverse non-profits in Africa with a successful track in results-oriented programming, strategic partnerships management and team culture; driving high scores on compliant and effective development interventions. Mary is also the founder of Tujiendeleze Youth Trust Fund, an initiative that mentors and supports young people in Kenya to access tertiary education. Mary holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Finance from the University of Nairobi.

When not working, Mary enjoys the outdoors, spending time at the beach with her family, traveling and volunteering on local disability inclusion and women-led non-profit boards.
