Associate Director, Partnerships
Mitali is a global health advocate with 20 years’ experience across public, private and not-for-profit sectors. Prior to Co-Impact, Mitali led the global health team at BMJ Publishing Group (BMJ) where she co-designed and led a pandemic preparedness program to improve the detection, diagnosis and management of infectious diseases, which was recognised by the Global Centre for Security Policy, winning an award for innovation. Mitali also played a key role in making risk communication a central issue for managing epidemics and pandemics as part of an EU-funded program following the SARS outbreak.
Mitali has successfully established bilateral and multilateral partnerships, including with the World Health Organization, US Department of Defense, UK Foreign Office and Asian Development Bank to deliver programs across Europe, the Middle East, Central and South-East Asia. She has established and managed Advisory Boards in multiple countries, including both Ministerial and sector-wide representation, which have been instrumental in securing both political and community level support for programs to ensure sustainability. With a focus on clinical quality improvement and education, Mitali has contributed to global health policy development, health systems strengthening, building research capacity and the creation of knowledge translation and communication strategies and sustainability frameworks in the global south.
Prior to this, Mitali commissioned and managed primary care and prison health services in the UK, and represented NHS hospitals in UK Government policy dialogues, advising on key healthcare policy issues. She worked with NHS Boards to enable effective operationalization of health policies and priorities.
Mitali is based in London.
