Silvia Bastante de Unverhau

Silvia Bastante de Unverhau is a global philanthropy expert who brings over 20 years of experience working across the international development, non-profit, business, and government sectors to her role as Senior Advisor to Co-Impact. She focuses on philanthropy, advocacy and influencing.

From January 2018 until September 2021, Silvia was Co-Impact’s Chief Philanthropy Officer fostering collaboration and helping to mobilize philanthropic funding to support Co-Impact’s goals.

In addition to advising Co-Impact, Silvia is an independent philanthropy advisor, she serves as a Senior Fellow at the Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth, University of Zurich, sits on the Board of I AM WATER Ocean Conservation Foundation, and is an Advisory Board member for VALUEworks.

From 2013-2017 Silvia was the Global Head of Philanthropy Advisory at UBS where she supported clients to realize their philanthropic aspirations, and created the largest community of UHNW philanthropists and social impact investors with over 400 members worldwide. Prior to that, she was an Associate Partner at the strategy consulting firm Monitor Group working with national and non-profit leaders and business executives on strategy and social change. Early in her career, Silvia held management roles at the Organization of American States in Washington DC, the International Secretariat of Amnesty in London, and the Office of the President of Peru.

Silvia graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a BSc in Government and Economics, and holds a Master in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School where she was also distinguished as a Mason Fellow. Silvia brings a unique and global perspective to her work. Originally from Lima, Peru, she has visited and worked in over 70 countries across five continents. She lives with her husband and two children in Zurich.
