Empowering the Youth to Transform Gender Norms
In partnership with Kaivalya Education Foundation, Breakthrough Trust aims to integrate gender-equitable curricula in government education systems across the Indian states of Punjab and Odisha.
By working closely with the government, the initiative seeks to reach four million adolescents and train 66,000 teachers by 2028; it has already reached 800,000 adolescents and 28,060 teachers to date. In 2023, Breakthrough signed formal agreements with the Punjab and Odisha state governments, and their model is being implemented across 6,250 schools in 23 districts, paving the way for more gender-inclusive education in India.
