Gemawan Association’s PEMANTIK Initiative aims to promote women’s participation, voices, and leadership in natural resource governance at all levels in Indonesia.

Holding more than 20 years’ of experience working on women’s empowerment and community-based forest and land management, Gemawan works closely with indigenous communities in historically marginalized areas of Indonesia, such as Kalimantan, on issues of political sovereignty, economic independence, and climate action.
