Education

The Brazil Literacy Collaborative is increasing literacy rates among first and second grade public school students across 17 Brazilian states. By improving collaboration and financing mechanisms between states and municipalities, BLC aims to raise literacy rates from 48% to 75% within five years, impacting 6.6 million students.

BLC’s initiative has already reached over three million children in public schools across 3,827 municipalities, and is contributing to the Brazilian government’s new National Commitment for Children’s Literacy — a federal program aimed at ensuring literacy at the right age.
