This Guidebook presents Co-Impact’s approach to learning, measurement, and evaluation (LME) particularly for our program partners. Building on our extensive experience—and that of other key actors—it offers insights to support meaningful systems change at scale.
The Guidebook is structured in three main sections.
- Approach to LME – we define LME, explaining why this approach is a powerful enabler of systems change.
- Outcomes for systems change initiatives – we talk about 3 levels of outcomes for the system change initiatives – people, system and organisation level outcomes
- Learning as a practice – we introduce essential LME tools, using real-world examples from the work of our partners, to equip organizations seeking systems change to build a strong LME practice.
Since effective systems change requires a contextual approach, we anticipate that each organization will adapt its LME practices to fit its unique environment. We also recognize that there are many different ways to do LME thoughtfully. Therefore, while we expect our partners to engage with all core components of a robust LME approach, we also welcome deep tailoring and adaptation of the tools found in this Guidebook, to meet their specific needs. Through this Guidebook, we hope to demonstrate how LME can become a valuable, resource for organizations striving to create lasting change in people’s lives.
